Financial Benefits for In-Service Teachers
For teachers seeking a master’s degree in Education, SAGE is now offering Art of Teaching courses at a reduced per-credit cost.
Today, at a time when teachers face serious reductions in benefits, Cedar Crest College wishes to extend additional financial benefits to professionals in the field of education.
At Cedar Crest College’s School of Adult and Graduate Education (SAGE), we would like to help alleviate some of the stresses—specifically those related to fulfilling Act 48 credits and/or earning a master’s level education degree.
For this reason, SAGE is extending special benefits to teachers who already possess state certification and wish to further their education by enrolling in a master’s level Art of Teaching program.
Beginning Fall 2012, teachers who enroll in this program at Cedar Crest College will be billed at the prevailing state tuition rate, which is currently $429 per credit.
For all other students enrolled in the Art of Teaching program—namely those who do not currently possess state certification and hold a current teaching position—the rate will be $465 per credit. Currently, our new rate affords you a savings of $36 per credit or $108 per 3-credit course.
To apply for this discount, please complete the In-Service Teacher Tuition Discount Form.
Because Cedar Crest College is more centrally located than other similar institutions such as those in Kutztown and East Stroudsburg, teachers in the Lehigh Valley and surrounding areas—Allentown, Bethlehem, Easton, and others—will now be able to pursue an advanced degree in education while remaining closer to home.
Additional Benefits of the Master’s Degree in the Art of Teaching Program
- It includes a combination of hybrid and accelerated courses (such as online and two-weekend courses), as well as traditional courses.
- It runs year-round.
- It can be completed in as little as a calendar year (12 months).
