B.A. with Integrated Art Focus

The integrated art focus program allows students to engage in studio art practice while bridging their studies with another discipline of their choosing. Each student will self-design an area of integration as it best suits his or her career interests. Recommended integrations are with communications, business and/or psychology.

Degree Requirements

Foundations:
ART 101: Beginning Drawing 3 credits
ART 110: Principles of Visual Organization 3 credits
ART 105: Art History I 3 credits
ART 106: Art History II 3 credits
ART 138: Elements of Design (Digital Studio) (spring of even years) 3 credits
ART:132,232,134 Computer Software workshops ( 2 out of 3) 2 credits
Art History (choose 2) 6 credits
ART 200: Modern Art: 1880-1945 (fall)
ART 210: Contemporary Art: 1945-present (spring)
ART 220: Women Artists (spring)

Studio courses
Two intro level studio courses (suggest one 2D and one 3D) 6 credits
2nd level course in a chosen studio area: 3 credits
335: Advanced Problems (3rd level studio) 3 credits
(4th level studio may be taken as ART 435 Advanced Problems)

AND 12 credits from another department. 12 credits
Consult with your advisor to create a self-designed integration based on another discipline of study. (You may not integrate with another art discipline.) Four courses are required.
